After a bidding process, ENRESA has awarded to INGECID the contract for the “Type B packaging design service for the transport of radioactive material“, after being the company which has submitted the best technical-economic offer according to the weighting of the criteria for the award of the contract.

The contract consists of the design of a type B(U) packaging capable of forming a package that can be transported by road, rail and sea within and outside Spanish territory. The contract includes the mathematical simulations of the tests and trials necessary to ensure that the designed packaging will meet the criteria established for certification as type B(U) packaging, according to the ADR (Agreement on the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road), RID (International Regulations concerning the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Rail) and IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code).
