Francisco Ballester Muñoz (Professor of Construction Engineering) and Jesús de Paz (Head of the design and BIM department of the company), participated as speakers in the session “INSIDER mid-term workshop 2019” on 22 May in Bilbao, organised by the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU).

The presentation, focused on “Innovation for gradual change in radiological characterisation”, highlighted the importance of the application of the BIM / NPPIM methodology in decommissioning projects, and introduced a new working methodology called ‘Nuclear Power Plant Information Modelling’ (NPPIM). This new working methodology seeks to implement and develop new tools to optimise and manage nuclear power plant decommissioning activities through the use of intelligent 3D models and integrated information management.

The meeting was attended by around 60 professionals from prestigious organisations in the sector, who participated in a series of panel discussions focused on three main topics: the detection system, analytical methods and digitisation
