The joint venture formed by IDOM, WESTINGHOUSE and INGECID is awarded the contract for the execution of a support installation for the ISFSI of the CNSMG

The National Radioactive Waste Company (ENRESA) has awarded the contract “Engineering for the design, licensing, environmental processing and works management for the execution of a support facility for the ATI of the Santa María de Garoña Nuclear Power Plant” to the join venture INGENIERIA INSTALACION DE APOYO ATI GAROÑA 2022.

The joint venture formed by IDOM CONSULTING, ENGINEERING, ARCHITECTURE S.A.U.; WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC SPAIN S.A.U. and INGECID INVESTIGACIÓN Y DESARROLLO DE PROYECTOS S.L. has been awarded the contract for an amount of 5.7 M€, as the company that has submitted the best quality-price offer.

The objective of the project, which will last approximately 60 months, is the execution of the Support Facility that will support the ISFSI of the Santa María de Garoña NPP (CNSMG), currently in a situation of definitive shutdown, where phase 1 of dismantling is expected to begin as from 2022, and will consist of a facility complementary to the ISFSI for inspection, maintenance, repair and conditioning tasks for the dispatch of ENUN 52-B casks.

This achievement reaffirms the work that INGECID has been carrying out in the nuclear sector.
