Nabralift 2.0 HH144 tower foundation in Morocco

Innovative piloted reinforced concrete foundations

INGECID's design has been used in the foundations of Africa's tallest wind turbine

A wind turbine with a hub height of 144 metres has been installed at the Oualidia wind farm in Morocco, making it the tallest wind turbine in Africa. The wind farm has been developed by the French company Innovent, while the assembly has been carried out using the Nabralift 2.0 tower family’s self-assembly system from the Navarra-based company Nabrawind Technologies SL.

As part of this project, INGECID has designed the innovative reinforced concrete piled foundation. Three piles have been built, the head of which houses the bolt cage for the connection with the metallic tower.

This design has made it possible to reduce the amount of concrete and steel by 80% compared to a standard gravity foundation, thus reducing the cost and CO2 emissions during construction by more than 50%.
