Design of gravity foundations for offshore wind turbines at different intermediate depth sites
Pre-design of gravity foundations for various mid-water sites
INGECID has carried out the pre-design of gravity foundations for IBERDROLA for several intermediate water sites, thanks to the development of pre-design tools that allow the analysis and comparison of different structure typologies.
The pre-design includes the determination of hydrodynamic loads, validated by means of numerical simulations and tests in the channel of the Centro de Estudios y Experimentación de Obras Públicas (CEDEX), the analysis of construction and installation processes, and the preliminary structural calculation. In a second phase of the project, the design was optimised and the solution has been protected by a patent.
