Descripción del proyecto

Development and management of the BIM/NPPIM model of the Santa María de Garoña Nuclear Power Plant

Year: 2017

The objective of the project has been to draw up a complete NPPIM (Nuclear Power Plant Information Modelling, i.e. BIM applied to nuclear power plants) model of the Santa María de Garoña nuclear power plant, with the objective of supporting all the activities included in the dismantling process.

To this end, the plant buildings and the different piping systems included in each of the buildings have been modelled. Each of the elements of the model has been provided with a high level of information that has made it useful in each phase of the dismantling preparation process, beginning with the physical inventory and radiological characterisation.

The use of the model makes it possible, among other things, to identify possible interferences between elements, the volumes and characteristics of each material, the access routes to the different zones and the availability of storage spaces during each phase of the project. This allows optimised planning of dismantling activities, efficient management of waste, resources and storage spaces, tracking of costs and traceability of components.
